It\u2019s a whirlwind of beauty and chaos\u2014where the air hits you with humid warmth, the streets buzz with countless scooters, and the irresistible aroma of noodle soup drifts from a street stall around the corner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This isn\u2019t just a trip\u2014it\u2019s a full-on adventure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But that\u2019s the thing about a real adventure \u2013 it\u2019s best when you\u2019re not stressing about the small stuff. And in a place as wonderfully manic as Vietnam, your phone isn&#8217;t small stuff. It\u2019s your map, your translator, your lifeline. I learned that the hard way a few years back, standing jet-lagged at a crossroads in Hanoi\u2019s Old Quarter with no data and no clue where my hotel was. Not a great start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So, before we get into the must-see spots, here\u2019s my single most important tip: sort your phone out before you even think about packing your sun cream. Most people either start in the north, in Hanoi, or in the south, in Ho Chi Minh City. You\u2019ll spend your first day just wandering, dodging scooters, and soaking it all in. My absolute must-do here is to find a tiny cafe and try an egg coffee. I was sceptical, I&#8217;ll admit. Coffee and egg? Sounds a bit weird. But trust me, it\u2019s like drinking a creamy, liquid tiramisu. I had three in one day. You just have to. It\u2019s a UNESCO World Heritage site for a reason. Thousands of giant limestone peaks covered in jungle just jut straight out of the calm, green water. It looks prehistoric. The best way to do it is on an overnight cruise. Waking up in the morning and seeing nothing but those silent, misty mountains around you is a moment that properly stays with you. Oh, it\u2019s just gorgeous. It\u2019s an old trading port with beautifully preserved, sunny-yellow buildings and streets that are mercifully free of traffic. It&#8217;s famous for its tailors, and you can get amazing clothes made for a fraction of the price back home. Again, you\u2019ll want your phone handy to show them pictures of what you want from Pinterest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But the real magic of Hoi An happens at night. The whole town lights up with thousands of colourful silk lanterns. It\u2019s breathtakingly pretty.
